Before the Physical

I have found in my short life that people writing on metaphysics like to keep it simple, when it comes down to it. They claim it is all about faith. I think we can call this Classical Metaphysics.
People interested in metaphysics, and reading up on it, will most probably come across the idea that the one metaphysician is truly the One. You may be perplexed - which "One"?
Let's face it, religion is all about inner faith. Something inside us that tries to point out that the world isn't as bad as it sometimes seems.
The use of the metaphysical is already commonplace, anyways. You only need to converse with the people around you to notice. Thing is, we will only recognise it as metaphysical once we step outside the square - the home, the country, the universe...
"Somewhere in my heart of hearts." This was a statement frequented by a friend who was approaching a mid-life crisis of religious proportions. She considered turning to religion, and I pointed out to her that her poetic inclinations have taught me more about metaphysics than the bible ever has.
My crises at the time have since passed, but hers continue on.
Then there is the commonplace - astrology. Considering that our physical presence and persona is a product of the positioning of the stars, if you ask me, that's metaphysics. Let's call it Neo-Classical.
There are also those of us who recognise mind patterns, and are henceforth psychic. There really is no mystery here, just a touch of foresight. You can probably read my future by reading this post.
There's people who claim they're reading your mind, judging everything they can about you upon first impressions, or maybe getting drunk so they can play pool better and attempt to read someone's aura as an instrument for chatting-up.
What is metaphysics? Have a look around you.

Metaphysics for me?
I have always maintained there is a universe contained within a beautiful woman.
Hence, I have made it my major 'discipline' to study the female form (it's exterior and interior beauty).
And have found it's all the metaphysics I need. * Call it faith in 'female nature' if you like.
I'm in post-doctoral, post-Masters stage at the moment ... (I'll be printing up my own business cards with Dr David on them soon ...
In front of every good man? Is a woman prepared to bend over and ... [well you probably know the rest ... *

Thinking The World
as you said, most people think there's no point in studing metaphysics, and that philosophers should focus in "physics", since the "meta" part concearns these "religious" things...hehe, i agree with u in the matter
Cheers. Uula
