Dim Lights

July 10th 2011 10:13
They do it but they don't know why.

Too much of reading, watching and listening to the same people under the same rule. To have someone look up from the paper and say, "What do you think of this same sex marriage business" can only be expected to be replied to with political patronage. As with abortion and women's rights, it is something in everyday life that shouldn't be considered in a political view.

It will always happen, whether legal or illegal, under public or family scrutiny, as it always has been with every illicit drug under the sun.

The light which sparks our minds may fade every so often, and it would take a business the size of News Ltd to get in there and switch it off for good. Not that its employees want to, as they tend to be stalwarts of a subsidiary bought out by the corporation that changes the face of each subsidiary as it progresses through the ranks.

Some might remain, but in an attempt to shake and scare up the internal workforce into expressing the views of Murdoch, La Familia, many of its intellectual and social outcasts will be cast out.

Breaking news on some 'End of the World' stuff? You can bet that's to divert attention from whatever other deals are going on in different parts of the Empire. Channel Ten, one of Australia's big players in free-to-air TV, has been sold to The Corporation. Having been tapping into the 20 to 30 something market for a good amount of time, the new Man has decided to basically do a corporate raid - buy out the company and set the axe into swinging.

For those of us who enjoyed the ABC-lite of news and entertainment, we will be left either back to the Govt owned ABC or just put up with the brainwash, merk and murder that La Familia is known for - maybe subsidising wearing out the remote for a bit of wear and tear on our intellegence.

For some, the light will flicker and fade, as if Ten was the Pied Piper bringing in the young minds and leaving them with processed infotainment to zombify with. It can seem like there's no escaping. Maybe to start with a google of the words 'independent media' and work our way from there>_>
