Raunch Culture Review

"You got it bad..."
Paris Hilton got famous - not as a heiress, but a pornstar. Most people would agree its pretty bad for a porno flick, so let's call it infamy. Then came the average trashy magazine deciding to print photos of her and her dog. Following this, an album.
Music these days is the generally accepted way of raunch culture being promoted, especially the videos. Paris plays it pretty cool in her videos, no porn in here. The problem is, the lyrics show a side of her that we already know from her initial claim to fame. She seems like the type that's used to being taken advantage of. "Stars are Blind" - is she talking about herself here?
From the other side of the romping world of musical raunch come the Pussycat Dolls. Being a six piece girl band, they seem out to prove that power comes in numbers - especially if you've got youth and a pack of sass on your back.
These girls seem lke your average commercial rapper whores if you see them in a certain light. There are also times when they seem to have sexual strength - willing to pole dance on the train while telling the quintessential male figure to mind his own business. These girls know they got here for generally superficial reasons, and seem to promote the idea that the music industry isn't all its cracked up to be. They probably consider pole-dancing lessons as more important than singing.
I've got to admit it, unlike Paris (and before her, Kylie and Madonna), these girls are a turn on.
The words 'sensual' and 'strength' combined in a description of someone. You must know I am speaking kindly.

I think they're hot!
First saw them in 'Charlies Angels: Full Throttle'.
They're just having fun and you know what...the lead singer can really sing. The dancing and the looks, icing on their cakes.
You don't have to be like them nor want to act like this to appreciate the beauty of well...sensuality.
They are not part of Raunch Culture.
They're part of Pop Culture. Drop dead sexy Culture.
Paris Hilton is curiously assexual despite her 'sexy' image. She looks detached.
Hope you are well Opto.

more into the 'older more meditative scene' - *lol* should I ask for a zimmer frame next time I am at the doc?
i am only starting with Hi5 and the Teletubbies - by the time I start with Paris Hilton and the likes you will probably be writing about the indecency of the next generation

Ash...I have a 16yo daughter and teen boys who keep me well informed, much to my dismay...and yes, it's funny to think that one day Miss Hilton and ilk will be considered old hat!

"Icing on their cakes..."
I've got a feeling you're old hat at this business yourself. Make way, Dita Von Teese! Here comes....
Ash, while you're there, can you find out what happened to Astroboy? There should've been a movie by now.
Thanks for your share, piece of peace etc...

Is it Nicole Scherzinger? She generally takes, and keeps, the limelight...
